The not-for-profit organisation Renew Adelaide has been doing great things for the city since it was established in 2010. Matching empty spaces with emerging ventures, Renew Adelaide has been at the heart of the city’s reinvention over the past 15 years.

The organisation’s latest creation is Westbound – a free afternoon mini-festival featuring live music, market stalls and local food and drink.

Funded by City of Adelaide, and supported by the Adelaide West End Association and University of South Australia, those heading along can expect a curated artisan market selling everything from prints and jewellery to clothing and ceramics.

The day will also include free artist workshops and a great variety of food and drink on offer from SA’s finest makers and mixers.

As for the live music lineup, bandleader and drummer Alexander Flood is headlining with what promises to be a vibrant set. Also taking to the stage during the day are five-piece noise rockers The Empty Threats, emerging rock act Any Young Mechanic, energetic alt-rockers Live Slug Reaction and indie pop songstress Ebony A Million. Rounding out the event are DJ sets from WET//DREEMS, the lads behind BAD//DREEMS, and local DJ Romi.

Westbound is shaping as a fantastic day celebrating everything great about Adelaide’s burgeoning culture and arts scene.

Westbound takes place at Lion Arts Precinct on Saturday, March 15 from 12pm to 6pm. For more information about the free event visit renewadelaide.com.
