Modern pianist Hania Rani has announced four special shows in Australia across February and March, including an appearance in Adelaide as part of the Adelaide Festival.

The Polish-born creative who spends her time between Warsaw and Berlin has been called one of “the world’s most transcendent modern pianists,” with her compelling arrangments blurring “the lines between ambient, minimalist and house.”

Rani is touring in support of her 2023 album, Ghosts, which draws inspiration from a wide range of diverse artists, including Enya, The Smile, James Blake and Pink Floyd. The album features collaborations with Patrick Watson, Ólafur Arnalds and Duncan Bellamy (Portico Quartet), and was critically acclaimed.

Rani’s Australian tour kicks off this week with two concerts in Melbourne at Melbourne Recital Centre on Thursday, February 20 (sold out) and Friday, February 21. Rani then performs at Fremantle Arts Centre on Sunday, February 23, then the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday, February 25 (sold out), before taking to the stage at AEC Theatre in Adelaide on Saturday, March 1.
