Celebrating the 30th anniversary of their much loved sophomore album, Hi Fi Way, Aussie alt-rock veterans You Am I are hitting the road with the return of The Hi Fi Daily Double Down Tour.
The Tim Rogers-led quartet will perform their classic albums Hi Fi Way and Hourly, Daily in full across nine shows this April and May. Fans can expect to hear all the classic tracks from both albums, such as ‘Cathy’s Clown’, ‘Purple Sneakers’ and ‘Tuesday’, along with a few fan favourites from their epic 35+ year career.
Taking to social media to announce the tour, the band posted this statement: “31 years ago You Am I embarked on an amazing American adventure at the behest of their new friends Soundgarden. At the end of the six week tour, and against everyone’s advice, the band decamped to New York to knock out a new record in three weeks. 30 years ago that record came out and astonished everyone. It was called Hi Fi Way and would go on to be a number one album without the hint of a hit or commercial radio airplay. It’s the sound of a band just doing what they do, no fuss and no fucking around.
“Fast forward to 2025 and You Am I is those same three dudes (plus one) and it’s time to celebrate. Timmy, Davey, Andy and Rusty are as pleased as punch to be bringing our twin album showcase the celebrated Hi Fi-Daily Double back to a venue near you. The Hi Fi Daily Double Down is a reprise of the now legendary 2013 shows captured on Live Electrified but with new twists and turns to make it as fresh as the faces that opened for Soundgarden in 1994.”
The tour begins in Canberra at UC Refectory on Thursday, April 3. You Am I then play two shows at Syndey’s Enmore Theatre on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 before dates at Melbourne’s The Forum on Friday, April 11, Hobart’s Odeon Theatre on Saturday, April 12, Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley Music Hall on Saturday, April 26 and Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday, May 2. The tour wraps up with gigs at Perth’s Metro City on Saturday, May 3 and Newcastle’s NEX on Friday, May 9.
Pre-sale begins Tuesday, February 18 at 8:30am local time and runs for 48 hours. You can register here. General on-sale commences Thursday, February 20 at 8:30am local time via Teamwrk Touring.

A landmark Australian release, Hi Fi Way is considered a classic by critics and music fans alike. Produced by Lee Ranaldo and recorded in New York, the album reached #1 on the ARIA Album Chart and spawned the singles ‘Cathy's Clown’, ‘Jewels and Bullets’ and ‘Purple Sneakers’. Hourly, Daily followed a year later and also topped the charts, cementing You Am I’s status as local rock greats.
Along with heading out on the road in support of the album’s 30th anniversary, You Am I are releasing a limited edition blue vinyl of Hi Fi Way. There will also be 100 signed copies of the vinyl available. For more information visit youami.com.
