Original Lineup of Winger Announce Farewell Australian Tour

Legendary New York rockers Winger have announced their final Australian tour. Not only is this your last chance to catch Winger in the flesh, but it’s also the only opportunity to catch the original lineup – Kip Winger (vocals, bass), Reb Beach (guitar), Rod Morgenstein (drums), Paul Taylor (guitar, keyboards) and John Roth (guitar) – performing a career-spanning set of classic Winger tunes.
Breaking out in 1987 with the release of their triple-platinum, self-titled debut album, which spawned hits like ‘Seventeen’, ‘Headed for a Heartbreak’, and ‘Madalaine’, Winger quickly found themselves at the forefront of the New York metal scene.
Winger have been through several lineup changes over the years (along with a few breakups), but are excited to bring the original lineup to Australia for a run of farewell shows this April.
The tour commences at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday, April 4 and continues with dates at Sydney’s Manning Bar on Saturday, April 5, Adelaide’s The Gov on Sunday, April 6, Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Tuesday, April 8 and Perth’s magnet House on Thursday, April 10.
Support comes in the form of Melbourne rockers Shotgun Mistress, who blend classic rock energy with a modern edge.

Formed in 1987 in New York, Winger quickly established themselves as heavy rock superstars, dropping two platinum albums, Winger and In the Heart of the Young, and finding themselves nominated for an American Music Award for Best New Heavy Metal Band in 1990.
The band’s initial success began to fade with the rise of grunge, with Winger calling it a day in 1993. Each member of the band went on to do great stuff – Reb Beach has been a longtime guitarist for Whitesnake, Rod Morgenstein has played with the Dixie Dregs, Paul Taylor has collaborated with Alice Cooper, John Roth has played with Giant and Starship whilst Kip Winger has enjoyed a successful solo career.
Reforming in 2001, Winger have gone on to release four more albums, including 2023s Seven. Fans will want to get in quick and secure tickets to Winger’s final Aussie tour ever.
