UK DJ Sammy Virji has just announced a run of Australian shows this May. The DJ and creator, who has become a major player in the UK garage and bass scene, has received millions of Spotify streams, with his songs ‘If U Need It’ and ‘Find My Way Home’ huge hits across Europe and North America.
Virji is playing five dates across the country, kicking things off at Perth’s Metro City on Friday 10 May. He then heads to The Forum in Melbourne on Saturday 11 May, DIVIDE in Adelaide on Thursday 16 May, The Warehouse in Brisbane on Friday 17 May and finally the Roundhouse in Sydney on Saturday 18 May.
Virji's eight-year rise in the UK's electronic scene has seen the Oxford-born lad play some of the biggest clubs and festivals across Europe. Having just embarked on a sold-out North American tour, Virji's recent single, 'Moonlight', is receiving rave reviews while his special live set at DJ Mag's headquarters has racked up over 1 million views on YouTube.
And if you’re interested in what tracks Virji would play if his set was shorted to allow just three songs, he recently gave that answer in an interview with Skiddle. His picks were the Oppidan Bootleg of Adam F’s ‘Circles’, Flowdan and his tune ‘Shella Verse’ and Bushbaby’s unreleased track ‘Untitled Emo Organ Banger’.
Tickets for Sammy Virji’s 2024 Australian tour go on general sale on Thursday 21 March. You can register for pre-sale tickets, which go on sale Wednesday 20 March, here.
