New faces in SA’s food scene to know.
‘Ino Panioteca
You’re going to want to add ‘ino Panioteca to your must-try list immediately. Opening its doors to the Prospect community in early October to serve its signature Cuzzetiello Napoletano to hungry humans. What’s that, you ask? A crusty bread pocket stuffed with southern Italian meatballs and lashings of homemade sugo. Very good stuff. You’ll also find strong espressos and fresh paninis at this sibling eatery to dessert haven, The Cannoli Box Co.
Yes Please: A Cuzzetiello Napoletano, duh.
Where: 102 Churchill Road, Prospect

Roma
Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis have flipped their fine-dining restaurant Eleven into a modern Italian eatery designed for every hour of the day. Enter Roma – your new go-to date night spot where the flavours are fresh, the servings are generous and the ingredients are always seasonal. Expect Roman-style pizza, plates of pasta and grilled meats served in a stunning alfresco setting. Delish!
Yes Please: Spencer Gulf calamari with pink pepper and lemon aioli.

Ballet Wine Bar
This heritage building in the heart of Glenelg now houses one of the Bay’s first wine nooks. At Ballet Wine Bar, you’ll find a 140-strong bottle list that blends international labels with homegrown names and an energy that’s distinctly European. A seat by the large sash window is perfect for people-watching as you sip on glasses of Taittinger. Graze your way through a menu designed to be shared – anchovy soldiers and steak tartare are always a good way to start.
Yes Please: Anthony Bourdain’s mortadella sando with provolone cheese and
dijon mustard.
Where: 31 Jetty Road, Glenelg

Spellman’s Social
Beats, bites and good booze are three things to expect from Spellmans’ Social. This Glenelg favourite is designed with community in mind. Here you’ll find a roster of weekly events to kick back and relax at, like the soul and funk Sundays or monthly trivia night. Pair your after-hours antics with truffle fries and Aperol spritzes, or pop past for a BLT on weekends.
Yes Please: Pumpkin arancini with parmesan and thyme.
Where: 37 Maxwell Terrace, Glenelg

Munch Deli
Munch Deli is what happens when two hospo pros tap into the sandwich deli craze and one-up it. At their CBD hole-in- the-wall, Jet Dang and Justin Kien have taken fresh flavours from Vietnam and stuffed them between two slices of bread. Understandably, the result is incredible. Take a bite of their ‘Pho-nomenal’ sub with Pho-style brisket, Asian herbs and pickled shallots and you’ll see what we mean – 10/10.
Yes Please: The spicy chick sando with poached lemongrass chicken and
buffalo sauce.
Where: Shop 6, 82 King William Street, Adelaide
