New faces in SA’s food scene to know.
La Chiva Taqueria
The latest taqueria to open in SA, this cosy city spot offers some of the freshest flavours in Adelaide. Taking cues from South American street food culture, La Chiva Taqueria’s menu balances traditional ingredients and forward-thinking recipes. What’s more, the menu is entirely gluten-free! Indulge in housemade Birra tacos, tostadas and Michelada cocktails – a boozy mix of beer, tomato juice, an assortment of sauces and lime.
Yes Please: The Barra Taco with baja barramundi, jalapeno mayo and pickled slaw.

The Gator Club
Vegan eats and gluten-free goodies are two things to expect from College Park favourite, The Gator Club. This plant-based cafe has many reasons to be on your must-try list: locally roasted coffee, gooey toasties, baked treats, an artisan market and a vibe that’s always welcoming. Grab breakfast with friends or cosy up for a cute coffee date in the corner store before taking home some handcrafted chilli oil or statement earrings.

The House of Vinteloper
Having closed in 2019 following the devastating Cudlee Creek bushfire, The House of Vinteloper has re-opened to the public. The former 1920s farmhouse ruins have transformed into a luxe new cellar door and tasting room drenched in natural light. Dabble in tasting flights, indulge on locally oriented grazing boards and unwind in the inviting atmosphere. With its plush seats, spacious floorplan and intimate energy, the re-imagined space is made for long conversations.
Yes Please: A generous grazing board.
Where: 589 Cudlee Creek Road, Lobethal.

Silver Sands Beach Club
November’s warmer weather calls for road trips. Top of the itinerary? Silver Sands. Not only can you drive onto the beach and set up camp all day, the local club also makes for a mean post-surf meal. Graze on prawn cocktail buns, or opt for a classic chicken schnitty or beer-battered Coorong mullet before washing your feed down with a pint of SA beer. The space is also stunning – floor-to-ceiling windows give way to views over the rolling sea and sand. Love!
Yes Please: That aforementioned prawn cocktail bun...
Where: The end of Norman Road, Silver Sands Beach.
