Naarm/Melbourne four-piece Press Club have revealed the name of their upcoming fourth studio album, To All The Ones That I Love.

Arriving May 2 via Inertia (pre-order/pre-save here), the ten-track record was recorded in the band’s own studio in Footscray with guitarist Greg Rietwyrk on production and mixing duties and the legendary Kris Crummett (Closure in Moscow, Dune Rats, Currents) drafted into master the album.

Along with announcing their new album, Press Club have shared the double single ‘Tightrope / Vacate’, with both songs able to be streamed here.

Speaking on the new single ‘Tightrope’, lead singer Natalie Foster says, “‘Tightrope’ is about hitting that point where you’re done trying to fix things, becoming frustrated and numb taking on everybody else's thoughts, worries and expectations. It’s that feeling of barely holding it together, like you’re walking a tightrope on the edge of a breakdown. Musically, it's a bit of an ode to The Hives, written after meeting them at Hurricane festival in Germany.”

The band’s bassist Iain MacRae adds, “It was one of those songs that came together pretty organically on its own, we didn't have to bang our heads against our instruments for a week or anything.”

‘Vacate’ is five and a half minutes of driving post-rock inspired by Robert Fripp’s guitar riff on David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ and the jagged staccato guitar work heard across New Order and Joy Division’s work.

The release of ‘Tightrope / Vacant’ follows previous singles ‘Wasted Days’ and ‘Champagne & Nikes’, with all four tracks appearing on To All The Ones That I Love.

Comprising Natalie Foster (vocals, guitar), Greg Rietwyk (guitar), Iain MacRae (bass) and Frank Lees (drums), Press Club have released three albums, with their most recent work, 2022s Endless Motion, debuting at #3 on the AIR Independent Label Chart.
