This Thursday (November 28) marks Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, an annual event created by the fundraising organisation Support Act. The day aims to raise urgently needed funds for those involved in the music industry by encouraging music fans to buy and wear their favourite band or artist’s t-shirt.
To coincide with the day, MusicSA are holding the South Aus Music T-Shirt Market at the Austral. This free event runs from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and features DJ sets from your fave SA artists, a huge range of local music merch up for grabs, from tees to vinyl, and $5 Coopers pints to keep you hydrated. MusicSA are also donating 10% of all proceeds from the sale of band merch towards Support Act.
Those unable to make the event can still get involved by heading to ausmusictshirtday.org.au and buying a tee or donating some coin to Support Act. Even if you pledge just five bucks, it all helps to provide the support needed to keep musicians, crew and other industry people in a job.
South Australian acts whose merch will be available at South Aus Music T-Shirt Day Market include Shadow Monarchy, Inner Tribe, The Genevieves, Brad Chicken, Sunsick Daisy, Subtlety, Vermantics, Coldwave, Normal Behaviour, Nocturnal Animal, Twine, Oscar The Wild, Street Legal, King Of Spain and Kitchen Witch.

While you might think Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is just a good excuse to wear your most-played Aussie band’s tee to work, it’s actually an important fundraising initiative that raised a record-breaking $904,656 for charity last year.
All funds raised by Ausmusic T-Shirt Day go towards crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing support to musicians, managers, crew, music workers and organisations, along with support for First Nations music workers.
So do your bit and head along to South Aus Music T-Shirt Day Market this Thursday and score some merch from your fav band or go online and grab a tee from the epic selection of exclusive merch available on the Ausmusic T-Shirt Day website.
You’ll find unique band tees featuring designs celebrating Aussie acts such as Cold Chisel, Gang of Youths, GFlip, Nick Cave, Kylie Minogue and more. The good thing about buying directly from Support Act is you know 100% of the profits go directly to helping those who need it. You can also get involved with fundraising events or donate directly to Support Act.
