Summer, who passed away in 2012, was a multiple Grammy-winning artist who defined the disco era of the ‘70s. Known as the ‘Queen of Disco’, she released over 15 albums and toured the global on the regular.

Marcia Hines and Casey Donovan have both achieved great success in their careers. Hines, who was born in Boston, has enjoyed a long and fruitful music career. Just like her idol Summer, Hines also starred in the music Hair, taking to Australian stages in 1970, two years after Summer tread the boards in Germany in 1968.

Hines became popular in the ‘70s, releasing a string of charting hits before taking time away from the music business in the ‘80s. She made a comeback in the ‘90s and has continued to release music and perform live, being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007 and being awarded the Order of Australia in 2009. Most recently Hines has found success as a judge on Australian Idol.

Donovan got her start aged 16 after winning the second season of Australian Idol in 2004. An accomplished singer, songwriter, actor, author and theatre star, Donovan is more well-known these days for her acting, both on the screen and stage.

The chance to see these two extraordinary artists performing the songs of Donna Summer together is a once-in-a-lifetime chance not to be missed.

Catch Marcia Hines and Casey Donovan at Thebarton Theatre on Wednesday, October 22. For ticketing information visit marciahines.com.
