Oscar the Wild have done it again with new single, ‘Big Think’. The quartet’s first taste of new music in 2025 is a crushing, shoegaze-inspired dopamine hit that expands on the band’s grungy indie-pop sound.
Taking to Instagram to announce the release of ‘Big Think’, Oscar the Wild revealed the single “may be our favourite release thus far and one we’ve been particularly excited for since we recorded it.” They go on to say “It’s a bit of a different and new direction for us and one we’ve been very eager to share. We’re super proud of it and we hope you love it as much as we do.”
Produced by Rhys Williams, who Oscar the Wild said made them “sound so big”, the tune is another homerun for the band.
Along with sharing ‘Big Think’, Oscar the Wild have announced two special gigs in support of the single this April. The first takes place at Jive in Adelaide/Tarndanya on Saturday, April 19, with support coming from noisy four-piece The Genevieves and alt-rocks The Fuss.
A week later Oscar the Wild head interstate for a show at Melbourne/Naarm’s Catfish on Saturday, April 26 where they will be joined by Sydney jazz-influenced indie rock collective FVNERAL and Melbourne’s Local the Neighbour.
Tickets for both concerts are on sale now via linktr.ee/oscarthewild.
