West Theb fans, it’s been a long time coming, but South Australia’s tight-knit rockers have released their second album MONGREL AUSTRALIA today, exclusively via The Note.
Thirteen tracks packed tightly with raw grit, guts, vulnerability and heart form the beast that is MONGREL AUSTRALIA, which arrives in the world officially tomorrow via Domestic La La. It’s the next chapter in West Thebarton’s storied journey, one that’s seen them harness the highs and lows the last few years have thrown at them (and the world) to create an album that’s fuelled, focused and looking into the future. The record itself was made in Adelaide at The Little Smoke, produced and mixed by Dylan Adams, and engineered by Jack Nigro at Twin Earth Studios in Somerton Park.
“These songs have been written over quite a long stretch,” says frontman Ray Dalfsen when reflecting on MONGREL AUSTRALIA in conversation with The Note. “It’s super exciting for us to have it out there. It’s like pull starting a chainsaw. I cannot wait... The West Theb train keeps rolling!”
