Bluesfest Byron Bay has unveiled a stack of new artists who will feature as part of the 36th and final edition of the festival next year.

The third artist lineup announcement is headlined by ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Missy Higgins, who has just completed a massively successful Australian tour off the back of her most recent album, The Second Act.

George Thorogood & The Destroyers, in the country next year supporting ZZ Top, and Rodrigo y Gabriela, who recently announced their own solo Australian tour, have both been added to the bill.

The new additions are rounded out by sixth-generation Apache musician Nahko, American singer-songwriter BJ the Chicago Kid, indie soul singer Don West and an exclusive Bluesfest only set from rising blues star Melody Angel.

These new names join an already bulging lineup of national and international talent that includes Kiwi legends Crowded House, singer-songwriter Vance Joy, South Aussie hip hop gurus Hilltop Hoods, multi-instrumentalist and singer John Butler, funk collective The Cat Empire, country singer Kasey Chambers blues wonder Gary Clark Jr. and more.

The final edition of Bluesfest Byron Bay is a four-day event held over the Easter long weekend from April 17 to 20, 2025, at the beautiful 300-acre Byron Events Farm.

Bluesfest OAM Director Peter Noble is excited about the new lineup of artists performing at next year’s event, releasing this statement: “While this lineup focuses on our homegrown talent, it’s still a strong Blues and Roots announcement, staying true to the heart of what Bluesfest has always been about. I can’t begin to tell you how many incredible artists have reached out, wanting to be part of our final festival. Scores of amazing talents from across the country have thrown their hats in the ring. It’s a testament to how special this festival is to the Australian music community. As much as I would love to include everyone, there are only so many spots we can fit into one lineup.”

Byron Bay Bluesfest 2025 takes place from Thursday, April 17 to Sunday, April 20 at Byron Events Farm. Tickets are on sale now via Moshtix.
