Alice Ivy Teams with Josh Teskey for New Single ‘Do I Need To Know What Love Is?’
The track is taken from Alice Ivy’s upcoming third studio album, Do What Makes You Happy.
Geelong artist Alice Ivy has shared the final single from her upcoming third studio album Do What Makes You Happy, arriving November 22 via Helix Records.
A collaboration between Ivy and Josh Teskey from the Teskey Brothers, ‘Do I Need To Know What Love Is?’ marries Ivy’s electronic instrumentation with Teskey’s soulful vocals.
Speaking about the song on her Instagram account, Ivy says: “From the moment I first heard Josh’s voice I knew I wanted to write something with him one day and working with Josh was a dream come true. It was a very special time in the studio that I’ll never forget. Excited for you to hear it!”
To coincide with the release of ‘Do I Need To Know What Love Is?’, Ivy shared a music video featuring a bunch of Melbourne’s best rollerskaters. Directed and edited by Dana Munnis, the music video finds the skaters blissfully gliding around a rollerskating rink while Ivy sits in the middle playing keyboards and singing.
“I hope you love the video as much as I do,” Ivy says about the clip. “On a very late Monday night we rented out Caribbean Rollerama and shot a one take video with the most amazing roller skaters! I’ve always wanted to shoot something there and it fits perfectly with this song. It takes a village so I wanna thank all of the legends who made this happen.”
