UK post-punk rockers New Model Army are heading to Australia for the first time in their history next year. The cult favourites have been making music for over 40 years, releasing their most recent album Unbroken at the beginning of 2024.
The band’s long-awaited tour of our shores begins at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Friday, May 2. Then it’s on to Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Saturday, May 3 and Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Sunday, May 4, before New Model Army makes the quick trip across the Tasman for a concert at The Tuning Fork in Auckland on Wednesday, May 7. They end the tour with shows at Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide on Friday, May 9 and Magnet House in Perth on Saturday, May 10.
Tickets for all six shows go on sale today at 8:30am local time via Troubadour Presents.
New Model Army’s first Australian tour arrives after the Bradford band spent most of 2024 on the road. The passionately independent New Model Army has performed over 100 shows in more than 20 different countries this year alone.
Unbroken, New Model Army’s 16th album, is incredibly their highest charting record of all time, peaking at #5 on the German Album Chart after its release in January of this year.
