Cherie Currie Announces Final Australian Tour

 

The former frontwoman of The Runaways is touring Australia in September.

Cherie Currie, the voice of iconic American rock act The Runaways, has announced she’s heading Down Under for one final tour in 2025.

The frontwoman makes her Australian return after almost a decade, locking in five headline gigs across the country next September. Currie promises fans an energetic setlist chock full of classic Runaways hits including ‘Cherry Bomb’, ‘Hollywood’ and ‘Queens of Noise’, along with her own solo material and several surprises.

Accompanying Currie on tour is German glam rock outfit Shameless, who are known for delivering electrifying live performances. Featuring an international lineup of frontmen, on this tour Shameless will be fronted by Stevie Rachelle, who is also the lead vocalist of LA trio Tuff. Expect songs from both the Shameless and Tuff catalogues to get a workout.

Currie’s final ever Australian tour begins at Perth’s The Rosemount on Friday, September 5 and continues with dates at Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor on Saturday, September 6, Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Thursday, September 11, Sydney’s Crowbar on Friday, September 12 and Brisbane’s Crowbar on Saturday, September 13.

Discovered at teen nightclub The Sugar Shack, Cherie Currie joined The Runaways alongside Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Sandy West, Jackie Fox and Vicki Blue at the age of 15 in 1975.

Currie recorded two studio albums and one live album with The Runaways before going solo at age 18. She has gone on to release seven studio albums, starred in several film and television projects and released the best-selling memoir, Neon Angel, which details the drug addiction that nearly ended her career.

A pop culture icon and trailblazing artist, fans of glam rock won’t want to miss Currie’s final Australian tour when she touches down next September.
