TOWNS Debut Album ‘sentimental slowdown’ Out Today
TOWNS debut record is 11 tracks of emotive, feel-good pop punk.

It’s finally here! Adelaide punk favourites TOWNS have dropped their much-hyped debut album, sentimental slowdown. Out now via Farmer & The Owl/BMG, the 11-track record is a celebration of Aston Valladares and Dan Steinert’s ten-year friendship.
A nostalgic journey through delirious punk-pop riffs, introspective lyrics and mateship, sentimental slowdown is a blistering record you’ll have on repeat.
“We first met on our first day of uni, dreaming of achieving just a fraction of the incredible things we've been fortunate enough to do,” the band shared. “This album feels like a chapter in the story of everything we've experienced together.”
Encapsulating everything great about TOWNS’ debut record is the rollicking ‘can’t blame yr dad’, a tune about watching yourself through the eyes of a friend. Valladares describes it as “a song about seeing myself in a rut, wanting to make it better, but realising it’s not up to me – it’s up to them.”

The release of sentimental slowdown coincides with TOWNS’ five-date Australian tour that kicks off this weekend at Perth’s Four 5 Nine on Saturday, November 16
TOWNS then play shows at Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor (Friday, November 22), Brisbane’s The Retreat (Saturday, November 23) and Sydney’s The Trocadero Room (Friday, November 29), before finishing up with a final gig at the Bearded Lady in Brisbane on Saturday, November 30.
