Steven Wilson Announces Australian Tour 2025

 

The prog-rock wizard will perform songs from across his career, including new album, The Overview.

English multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Steven Willson returns to Australia in November for a five-date tour.

The prog-rock veteran, best known as the founder of experimental rockers Porcupine Tree, is heading our way in support of his sprawling new concept album, The Overview. Released last Friday (March 14), the record runs 42 minutes and contains just two tracks – ‘Objects Outlive Us’ and ‘The Overview’. The intricately plotted album explores the shift in perception of astronauts viewing Earth from space.

Wilson will be joined on stage by Nick Beggs on bass (Mute Gods, Steve Hackett), jazz keyboardist Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Ray Manzarek), drummer Craig Blundell (Steve Hackett, Frost) and guitarist Randy McStine (Marco Minnemann, The Fringe).

The tour begins at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday, November 12 and continues with dates at Adelaide’s Her Masjesty’s Theatre on Thursday, November 13, Melbourne’s The Forum on Saturday, November 15, Sydney’s ICC Theatre on Sunday, November 16 and Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall on Monday, November 17.

A prog-rock icon, Steven Wilson redefined the genre with his work as the founding member of Porcupine Tree. The band have released 11 albums since forming in 1987, including the band’s most recent work, Closure/Continuation, which peaked at #2 on the UK Album Chart.

Wilson has received six Grammy nominations and scored three consecutive UK Top 5 albums across his career while also having remixed songs by some of the world’s top artists, including Pink Floyd, The Who, King Crimson and Tears For Fears.

Before hitting Australia, Wilson has dates lined up in the UK, Europe and North America, where he is performing for the first time in seven years.

Aussie fans are in for an absolute treat when the musical genius that is Steven Wilson touches down in November.
