Not only has Wray, who has been shouted out by the great man Elton John, revealed her 2025 tour dates, but she’s also shared new single, ‘Fake A Smile’.

An introspective track about mental health struggles, ‘Fake A Smile’ follows on from the previously released ‘What If’, ‘The Way She Moves’ and ‘Nice to Meet Me’.

Speaking on the track, Wray said: “This is more about the mental health side of things, which I have struggled with a lot. Especially from being signed to a label and having management, more people invested in the business and the project… I naturally feel the pressure to keep shit together and do the job. Put on the smile. Putting on the smile, doing the show, and then the curtain closes and you’re like, ‘How much longer can I keep doing this for?'

“I struggle a lot with body image; I hate the fact that my face and my body is the product, and that I have to sell that. But I’ve accepted that it’s just part of the job… It’s the mental health journey behind being the image and being my own boss; having people who are financially and emotionally invested in my career, trying to keep it together so it works out.”

Catch Mia Wray at Jive on Thursday, May 1. For full ticketing information visit miawray.com. Pre-order a copy of hi, it’s nice to meet me here.
