Cold Chisel Share New Single ‘You’ve Got To Move’
The new tune is taken from the band’s upcoming 50 Years – The Best Of album.
The Cold Chisel resurgence continues with the band releasing the brand new single, ‘You’ve Got To Move’.
Originally recorded during sessions for Chisel’s 2019 #1 album Blood Moon, the tune is a bluesy rock number with both Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss sharing vocal duties.
“We recorded the song back in 2019 and decided to keep it aside for something special,” says guitarist/vocalist Moss. “Celebrating 50 years is pretty damn special, so now is the perfect time to release it. Kevin Shirley mixed the song in January this year and we knew we had it nailed.”
You can listen to ‘You’ve Got To Move’ below.
The track is taken from Chisel’s forthcoming greatest hits album, 50 Years – The Best Of. The 25-track record will be released as a double vinyl and double CD set on August 16.
The album includes all the band’s big hits, including ‘Flame Trees’, ‘Khe Sanh’, ‘Cheap Wine’, ‘Bow River’, ‘My Baby’ and newbie, ‘You’ve Got To Move’. The album also includes two live tracks – ‘Shipping Steel’ and ‘Goodbye (Astrid Goodbye)’. You can pre-order the album here.
There will be three editions of the vinyl up for grabs – Gold, Unique Picture and Standard Black – with all three versions coming with a gatefold montage of images from Chisel’s incredible 50-year career along with liner notes by Boy Swallows Universe author Trent Dalton.
The release of ‘You’ve Got To Move’ and 50 Years – The Best Of comes as Chisel prepares to embark on a massive run of dates across the country. ‘The Big Five-0 Tour’ celebrates Chisel’s amazing longevity and includes a headline performance by the band at the VAILO Adelaide 500 after-race concert.
50 Years – The Best Of is set for release on Friday, August 16. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here and grab tickets to ‘The Big Five-0 Tour’ here. Check out the album artwork and tracklisting below.
