Country music star Taylor Sheridan has been announced as the support for Jimmy Barnes’ upcoming The Defiant Tour.

“Am still in shock and unbelievably thrilled to announce that I will be hitting the road with Jimmy Barnes!” Sheridan posted on Instagram.

Hailing from Kyneton, Victoria, the singer-songwriter is currently on tour supporting his #1 ARIA Country Album, Troubadour. Once the tour wraps next month, Sheridan will take some time to relax before hitting the road with Barnsey in June.

Having shared already the stage with John Farnham, Gladys Knight, Pete Murray, Daryl Braithwaite, Dionne Warwick and Vanessa Amorosi, Barnsey is the perfect artist for Sheridan to support.

The two hit the road on The Defiant Tour in June, kicking things off in Adelaide at AEC Theatre on Saturday, June 7. Barnes and Sheridan then have shows locked in at Perth’s Riverside Theatre on Sunday, June 8, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Saturday, June 14, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Saturday, June 21 and Sydney’s State Theatre on Friday, June 27, with the final concert held at the Canberra Theatre on Saturday, June  28.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back on stage with my band again,” Jimmy said in a statement. “I’m so proud of this new record – all the songs mean a lot to me and I can’t wait to share them with you. It’s going to be some serious fun!”

Tickets for all shows are on sale now via frontiertouring.com.

Jimmy Barnes’s tour coincides with the release of Defiant, the vocalist’s 21st studio album.

Getting his start as the frontman of Cold Chisel, one of the country’s most successful rock acts, Barnsey’s career includes an incredible 21 #1 ARIA Album Chart releases (six with Cold Chisel and 15 as a solo artist) and countless sold-out tours across Australia.

Having spent last year celebrating Cold Chisel’s 50th anniversary with The Big Five-O tour, Jimmy is excited to release his new solo album and return to the road performing tracks from Defiant as well as classics from his stacked discography, including ‘No Second Prize’, ‘Working Man’ and ‘Too Much Ain’t Enough Love’.
