Those still smarting after missing out on Meridith Music Festival tickets can wipe their tears away after sister festival Golden Plains XVII revealed its stacked 2025 lineup.
Held over the Victorian Labour Day weekend (Saturday, March 8 to Monday, March 10) at Supernatural Amphitheatre in Meredith on Wadawurrung Land, there are few festivals as inviting and homely as Golden Plains.
PJ Harvey, who is also playing WOMADelaide, tops this year’s Golden Plains bill alongside Ireland rock act Fontaines D.C. – who were originally meant to play Splendour in the Grass before it was canned – and dancefloor fillers 2manydjs, made up of brothers David and Stephen Dewaele.
Those lucky enough to score tickets can also catch sets by free jazz ensemble Sun Ra Arkestra, Irish rappers Kneecap, soulful R&B act Durand Jones & the Indications, Latin instrumental duo Hermanos Gutiérrez and Philly hip hop icon Bahamadia.
As for the Aussie contingent, singer-songwriter Thelma Plum, central Australian rockers Mulga Bore Hard Rock, indie songstress Grace Cummings, rising soul talent Jada Weazel and Sydney electronic artist Skeleten are all performing.
The ballot for Golden Plains XVII is open now until Monday, October 21. You can register your interest here. If you miss out on being selected, the remaining general admission tickets will be available online on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:30am. For full ticketing details visit the Golden Plains website.
